Police in Newark are on the search for the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian on a Newark Street then drove away from the scene.
NJIT Police found the victim near the intersection of Central Avenue and Hoyt Street shortly before 9 p.m. suffering injuries after a car struck them.
Authorities believe a black or dark colored Sedan sped towards Central Avenue after the incident.
EMS transported the victim to an area hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation remains active.
