Newark Police intervened to break up a large altercation outside Central High School in the city's Central Ward on Monday afternoon The incident occurred on the 18th Avenue side of the school just after dismissal, as students began fighting and a large crowd gathered.
Police were called to the scene at approximately 3:15 p.m. to help control the situation.
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé told RLS Media that officers responded to a call about a disorderly person and arrested an adult female at the location.
The woman is believed to be the parent of one of the individuals involved in the fight.
