Police in Paterson shut down the vicinity of Park Avenue from 22nd Street to 24th Street to investigate a shooting that injured a man early Sunday morning.
According to police, at approximately 12:29 a.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation that alerted police of nearly a dozen rounds in the 300 block of Park Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after they searched the area, no victim were found.
Police say while detectives canvassed the crime scene, officials at St. Joseph's Hospital alerted them that a male gunshot victim entered the emergency department suffering a bullet wound.
The victim told hospital officials that he was struck by gunfire on Park Avenue before arriving at St. Joseph's.
The condition of the victim has been reported as stable with non-life threatening injuries.
Paterson Police are searching for the suspect responsible for the shooting.
