Overnight police activity in Newark's East Ward had officers recovering weapons and making at least one arrest.
Police setup a crime scene in the single digit block of Riverview Court at around 11:30 p.m. after located a suspect armed with a weapon at that location. The suspect was immediately placed in custody without incident.
Shortly before midnight in the area of Orchard and South Street, police located a vehicle that had a weapon and other eveidence inside. It is not immediately clear if an arrest was made in this incident.
Authorities have made recovered over a dozen weapons from several parts of the city within a two week period according to reports.
