An investigation is underway into a crash that left two people injured this morning in Newark.
Police began following a vehicle in the area of Springfield Ave. and Grove Street at around 9:30 a.m. when the vehicle began to speed away according to reports.
The suspect's vehicle (refusing to stop) came to a crashing halt into several other vehicles on Nye Ave. and Fabyan Place with the suspects running from the scene.
One of the suspects (only described as a female) was apprehended in the area of Beverly and Leslie Streets after a foot pursuit. A male suspect managed to escape.
According to a spokesperson from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, two people were injured and transported to a nearby hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.
The spokesperson said the investigation is active and ongoing an could not release any other information at this time.
