Passaic County authorities are investigating a police pursuit that ended in a crash on a street in Passaic on Monday night.
According to preliminary reports, an off-duty police officer began to follow a suspect who was believed to be armed at a location in the city.
The suspect reportedly entered a vehicle and sped away leading officers on a pursuit that ended in a collision near the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Sherman Street at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Police say the suspect immediately jumped from the vehicle and began to run from the scene and into a nearby apartment complex.
The suspect was taken into custody in the 800 block of Main Avenue and a weapon was reportedly recovered at the scene.
Injuries were resulted in the crash, but no police officers suffered injuries according to reports.
