Police in Newark took two suspects in custody after an armed carjacking that occurred in the city's South Ward overnight.
According to police, suspects produced a weapon and demanded a 2005 Ford Explorer from the victim in the area of 55 Dewey Street before midnight.
Police canvassing the area found the vehicle and attempted to pull the driver over who ultimately led officers on a high-speed pursuit that touched off in Irvington and Hillside, according to police.
Police say three suspects bailed from the car in the area of Madison and Chadwick avenues.
Two of the male suspects were taken into custody and one other person who fled the scene remains at-large.
There were no physical injuries reported at this time.
