Paterson police are looking for a suspect who discharged over a dozen rounds on a street in Paterson on Saturday afternoon.
According to the preliminary investigation, at approximately 3:17 p.m., several officers were dispatched to the shooting scene near 13 Mercer Street.
The activation of a ShotSpotter device alerted police officials to the incident.
Upon their arrival, officers learned that a gray vehicle, possibly a Honda, had rapidly fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Police collected approximately 14 shell casings from the area. However, they did not locate any shooting victims during their thorough search of the neighborhood.
The motive behind the shooting remains undetermined at this time.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident.
