Police are investigating a multi-car crash that injured two police officers, an elderly male and two other people at a location in Newark Friday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, the crash involved three vehicles at the intersection of 14th and Littleton avenues just before 11:50 a.m.
Officials say the vehicles collided trapping two officers inside their patrol car at that location. A New Community Corporation vehicle was also involved in the collision according to police.
Newark emergency responders extricated the two officers then transported them ad the other victims to University Hospital for treatment.
The official cause of the crash is under investigation.
