There were non-life threatening injuries reported for a police officer attempting to arrest a suspect at a location in Belleville overnight.
According to preliminary reports, police were trying to arrest a male in the vicinity of 519 Washington Avenue at approximately 11 p.m. when the suspect reportedly resisted and reportedly began a scuffle with police.
During the resistance, police say the officer and the suspect required medical attention.
Belleville authorities say the police officer and the suspect are expected to make full recoveries.
Police have yet to release the reason for the arrest as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
