Newark Police request the public’s help with identifying the suspect, who was captured on surveillance video cameras using a credit card that was taken from the victim’s vehicle after it had been broken into on February 12.
According to police, at approximately 8:47 p.m., police responded to a criminal mischief call in the 200 block of Halsey Street.
Police said that when they arrived, the victim told officers that her vehicle had been burglarized and several items were missing, including her wallet containing a credit card and money.
According to police, the suspect, a white male wearing all black with a red splatter design on his shirt, was captured on surveillance video cameras using the credit card at several locations in downtown Newark.
Newark Police officials urge anyone with information about the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
