Authorities announced the arrest of Ms. Kareema K. Walton, 36, of Newark, for an aggravated assault stabbing that occurred last night.
According to police, shortly after 5 p.m., police responded to Riverview Court to a call of a sick and injured person.
Upon officer's arrival, they found a 26-year-old male who had been stabbed by a female acquaintance following a quarrel. EMS transported the victim to University Hospital for treatment. The victim’s condition is critical.
Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Ms. Kareema K. Walton as a suspect in this stabbing.
Police arrested Ms. Walton without incident and charged her with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
