There is an active and ongoing investigation into a violent stabbing incident that occurred in a section of Paterson Tuesday.
The early morning encounter happened around 5:07 a.m. in the area of 21st Avenue and Summer Street.
Police responded to reports of an injured person and when they arrived, they found an unidentified person suffering multiple stab wounds near the Exxon Gas Station.
The victim was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment and remained in serious condition.
Police have not identified a suspect responsible for the stabbing at this time.
