Police-Involved Shooting Injures Hamilton Man Accused of Stabbing Father

Authorities have a identified the Hamilton man shot by police yesterday, after he refused to comply with officers' orders to put down a knife he allegedly used to stab his father. 

Police responded to the Kuser Village Apartments Wednesday afternoon for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival,  police ordered attacker, Shawn Clyde, 36, to put down a knife he used to stab his father, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. 

After refusing to do as instructed, Clyde was shot by police around 5:30 p.m.

Clyde's father was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton with unknown injuries.

Clyde's mother was also transported to the same hospital for stab wounds after trying to intervene, police said.

Clyde was also transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton in unknown condition.

He was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses. 

His bail was set at $500,000.

The incident remains under investigation by the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task force.
