Hudson County authorities are looking into the circumstances behind a stabbing that occurred in Harrison and sent a person to a Newark hospital during the overnight hours.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to Supor Boulevard at approximately 3:45 a.m. after they received reports of an injured person at that location.
Several police units arrived at the scene and jumped into action to help an unidentified person bleeding after suffering an apparent stab injury according to reports.
Officers reportedly provided life-saving techniques before EMS arrived to rush the victim to University Hospital in Newark where doctors began treating the injury.
The extent of the victim's stab injury was only reported as severe, and there were no reports of a fatality as of 4:50 a.m.
The investigation into the motive for the stabbing is in its early stages and being handled by The Harrison Police Department.
There were no immediate reports of arrests made.
