Police in Newark are investigating a set of shootings that occurred in Newark this evening.
According to police, the first shooting happened shortly before 6 pm in the 30's block of Norwood Street where police responded to reports of shots fired.
A male victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot would to the leg and was transported to University Hospital where doctors provided treatment.
Police are investigating the motive for the shooting.
In a separate incident, gunfire rang out in the area of Treacy Avenue and Rose Terrace at around 7:30 pm sending police to the scene where they found evidence of a shooting.
A male victim, struck to the buttocks, was found in the 200 block of Avon after running from the original shooting scene.
His injuries were not reported as life threatening.
Newark Police are handling both investigations.
