Authorities in Newark are investigating a violent slashing that occurred at a restaurant in the city’s downtown Friday afternoon.
According to police, at approximately 4:40 p.m., police responded to reports of an injured person at the Palace Fried Chicken just next door to Newark Symphony Hall.
Police arrived and found the victim bleeding from his head after a suspect slashed him then ran from the scene.
According to police, the victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police are trying to determine if the suspect was attacked in the restaurant or ran into the establishment to seek help after being stabbed on a nearby street.
The motive for the attack is under investigation.
