Police in Linden are investigating a report of shots fired Tuesday night that left several residents alarmed but unharmed, police said today.
Officers responded to responded the 1100 block of McCandless Street Tuesday shortly after 8:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired.
Arriving officers spoke to area residents who told them that they heard at least 5 shots fired and then saw a small silver vehicle fleeing east on Union St. at a high rate of speed.
A resident of the block approached officers who told them that a round went into her wall separating her kitchen and dining room after being fired through her kitchen window.
A second round lodged into her siding and a third round went through a fence on the property.
There were no reported injuries.
Police searched the area but could not locate any suspects.
Detectives responded to process the scene.
