Paterson police are investigating a shots-fired incident that occurred early Sunday morning, where several shell casings were recovered, but no injuries were reported.Authorities were alerted to the shooting around 12:45 a.m. after a ShotSpotter device detected gunfire near 12th Avenue and East 22nd Street.
Officers quickly responded to the scene, where they discovered about three shell casings.
The area was secured and taped off as police canvassed the neighborhood for potential victims or witnesses.
However, no injuries were reported, and the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
At this time, police have not identified a motive for the shooting, and the suspect remains at large.
The investigation is ongoing.
