Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning on the Newark-Irvington border.Officers were dispatched to the intersection of South 20th Street and Clinton Avenue around 2:15 a.m. after reports of gunfire in the area.
Upon arrival, police found several shell casings in the street but, despite a thorough search, located no victims.
The suspect had fled the scene and remains at large.
The motive behind the shooting is currently unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
No arrests have been made at this time.
