Police Investigate Shooting that Injured 27-Year-Old Rahway Man

Police in Rahway are investigating  shooting that injured a 27-year-old man last night.

Police responded to the intersection of Church and Hamilton streets sometime around 9:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, police found the conscious victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. 

The victim was transported to Rahway Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Initial investigation revealed the the victim was outside his home with family when the armed man approached the home and fired one shot. The suspect hen fled on Hamilton Street. 

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6' tall, 20-25 years of age, shoulder length dreadlocks. The shooter was last seen wearing tight faded jeans and a dark colored sweatshirt.
