Authorities in Irvington are investigating a robbery that turned into a gang assault that happened overnight in the city.
Police responded to the 1200 block of Springfield Ave. at around 12:30 a.m. where they arrived to find a male victim who reported being robbed by several black males who viciously punched and beat him before taking his laptop and cell phone.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
