A reported armed robbery that occurred in Newark's South Ward is under investigation by police.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 50's block of St. James Place after the received reports of an armed robbery in progress before 1:55 a.m.
Upon officers' arrival, they found the victim who reported being approached then robbed at gunpoint by two black males at that location.
The victim reported that the suspects took several personal possession including car keys, a purse, and a wallet before fleeing the scene. There were no physical injuries reported.
Police are investigating a second armed robbery that was reported in the city's West Ward overnight.
According to reports, police were called to the area of Ashland Street near South 12th Street at approximately 1:20 a.m. to take a report of an armed robbery.
Officers arrived and found the victim who reported being robbed then assaulted by two black males where were armed with a weapon according to reports. The victim's injuries were not reported as life-threatening.
The suspects remain at at-large.
