An overnight strong armed carjacking reported in Newark is under investigation.
Police responded to the area of Mapes Avenue and Osborne Terrace shortly before 11 p.m. to take a report of a carjacking that occurred shortly before officers arrived.
The victim made a report to police that a black male suspect began to attack and ultimately took a gold Mercedes Benz E320 physically.
The suspect sped away from the scene.
There were no weapons or serious injuries reported.
