A shooting that hospitalized one person in Jersey City overnight has police investigating.
Police were called to Jersey City Medical Center at approximately 12:45 a.m. after a male victim entered the emergency department suffering a gunshot wound.
Doctors treated the victim's gunshot wound to the groin while police attempted to find the location where the victim suffered the injury.
Police searched the area of Kearney Avenue and MLK Drive for a crime scene after earlier reports of shots fired came back unfounded according to reports.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
