State police are investigating a crash that cause fatal injuries on Route 280 in West Orange early this morning.
The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of the highway near exit 6 where emergency responders were called to the scene for a crash with injuries reported.
First arriving firefighters located the badly damaged vehicle with one person trapped inside according to reports.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and at least one other victim suffered non-life threatening injuries reports said.
Police closed all eastbound lanes for the crash investigation.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
