Newark police are searching for a suspect involved in an early morning shooting that caused property damage in the city’s Central Ward on Sunday.
The initial investigation indicated that officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 40 block of Somerset Street around 2:45 a.m.
Upon arrival, they discovered multiple shell casings and two unoccupied vehicles damaged by bullets.
The Newark Shooting Response Team was called to the scene to assist with the investigation.
While no injuries were reported, police have not yet identified a suspect.
The incident remains under active investigation, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Newark Police Department. Further updates will be provided as details emerge.
