According to officials, the Newark Shooting Response Team responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 4 a.m. in the area of 167 Stuyvesant Avenue. Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and discovered shell casings and other evidence indicating a shooting had taken place. A thorough search of the neighborhood revealed no victims, and no injuries were reported. Police say the suspect or suspects fled the scene and remain at large. The motive behind the shooting is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Newark Police Department as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
