Authorities in Newark are investigating a domestic violence incident that had a man stabbed in Newark's Ironbound section early this morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 40's block of Jackson Street, less than a half block from the Jackson Street Bridge, for an altercation that involved two people at around 6:30 am.
Upon arrival officers found a male suffering a stab injury at that location.
The man was rushed to University Hospital in critical condition.
Police detained a female suspect who was acquainted with the victim.
