Authorities in Essex County are investigating a series of attempted burglaries that occurred in Glen Ridge and Bloomfield early Saturday morning.According to preliminary reports, Glen Ridge police responded to suspicious activity in the 50 block of Midland Avenue just before 4 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers began searching for at least three suspects who were seen fleeing the scene wearing hoodies and masks.
The individuals, believed to have attempted to burglarize private property, reportedly escaped in a white SUV.
Shortly after, at approximately 4:20 a.m., Bloomfield police received reports of another attempted burglary in the 400 block of Berkeley Avenue.
Suspects matching the Glen Ridge incident description were seen attempting to gain access to private property before fleeing the area.
Both cases remain under active investigation, and authorities have not yet announced any arrests. Police are urging residents to report any suspicious activity.
