Police are investigating armed robbery reported yesterday afternoon on the parking lot of Sam's Club in Linden.
Police responded to the parking lot of the Sam’s Club, located at 1900 E. Linden Avenue - where they met with a 36-year-old Woodbridge man who was reportedly robbed during the sale of prescription pills shortly before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The victim told officers that he went to the lot to meet with an individual to negotiate the sale of prescription pills. When he met the man - described as a dark-skinned male, 6’1”, thin build, with dreadlocks and a black beard - the man entered his vehicle.
The man then pulled out a handgun as a black vehicle pulled behind them occupied by two other men. One of the occupants of the vehicle got out and began to assault the victim.
The suspects took off in a black sedan headed south on Routes 1&9 with the victim's cash, cell phone, and prescription pills.
The injured victim refused medical attention.
