There is an active investigation underway into an armed carjacking that occurred in a section of Newark Saturday night.
According to police, they responded to a report of a carjacking in progress that occurred in the 300 block of south 7th Street shortly before 11:55 p.m.
Police say the victim reported that a suspect brandished a gun and took their 2001 Suzuki with a reported NJ license plate number "S68-JLV".
The suspect sped from the scene and remain at-large.
No physical injuries were reported.
