According to a statement released by Hudson County authorities, the incident happened Saturday at approximately 12:45 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of shots fired in the area of New Heckman Drive in Jersey City.
Authorities said responding Jersey City Police Officers found two injured males at that location.
According to police, the officials identified the males as an 18- year-old and a 17-year-old juvenile both from Jersey City.
EMS transported the tens to Jersey City Medical Center where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Officials said a third male, later identified as Mr. Jordan Herron, 19, of Jersey City, was privately transported to Bayonne Medical Center where doctors pronounced him dead shortly after 1:00 a.m.
The Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the chest and manner of death to be a homicide.
The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
Authorities said there are no arrests at this time.
