NEWARK NJ: Police requested sanitation officials to remove a street vigil after a large crowd that gathered late last night in the area of North 6th Street and 4th Avenue reportedly got out of control at around 10 p.m.
According to authorities, police were called to the scene on reports of a large gathering in the area.
The crowd reportedly became unruly and began to throw rocks and bottles upon police arrival, requiring officers to request additional units to the scene for assistance.
Police were able to quickly disperse the crowd without further incident or arrests.
There were no injuries reported.
