Police in Newark’s North Ward are investigating a Thursday evening robbery and have detained a suspect for questioning.
According to preliminary information, officers were dispatched to the area of Mount Prospect Avenue and Second Avenue after receiving reports of a robbery in progress.
Upon arrival, the victim informed police that a male suspect had stolen personal belongings at that location.
Authorities later located a possible suspect nearby and detained him for questioning.
Witnesses confirmed to officers that the individual in custody was responsible for the robbery.
No physical injuries were reported in the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing as police determine if charges will be filed.
