Police Charge Oak Ridge Man with Distributing Heroin

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of Mr. Steven Dahmer, 29, of Oak Ridge.

According to authorities in April 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Dahmer was involved in the distribution of dangerous controlled substances in the area of Dumont.

Police said a criminal narcotics investigation was initiated, during which Dahmer allegedly distributed a controlled dangerous substance, specifically heroin, to a detective of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office acting in an undercover capacity which occurred in Dumont, New Jersey.

According to police, on Wednesday, November 29th, officers arrested Dahmer without incident at his residence in Oak Ridge, New Jersey.

Police charged Dahmer with one count of Distribution of Heroin in quantity less than one-half ounce, and one count of Distribution of Heroin within 500 feet of Fred Triplett Park in Bergenfield.

Police released Dahmer on a summons pending a first appearance court date at Central Judicial Processing on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

Prosecutor Grewal states that the charges are merely accusations. Dahmer is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
