Newark Police are reporting the arrest of a 16-year old male juvenile from Newark for possessing a handgun and drugs on Thursday morning (Image not shown).
According to police officials, at approximately 11:50 a.m., police responded to the 600-block of 15th Avenue to a call of a suspicious individual with a gun.
Police officials said officers observed a juvenile male who fit the description of the suspect at that location.
Officers found in the suspect's possession a 9MM handgun and 28 vials of suspected CDS crack cocaine authorities said.
Police said the gun is stolen from a Georgia location.
Officers seized the handgun and placed the juvenile in custody.
The suspect is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of CDS and Receiving Stolen Property.
Officers also arrested **Omar Jones, 18, of Newark (Above photo)**, when they found him in possession of four vials of suspected CDS crack cocaine at the location.
Authorities are charging him with Failure to Make a Lawful Disposition of CDS.
These charges are merely accusations.
Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
