Police in Bloomfield have taken a township resident into custody and charged him with stealing from a local supermarket last week.
According to a statement released by Bloomfield police officials, Mr. Kevin Sales, 35, is the suspect wanted for the shoplifting incident that occurred on June 22.
Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at 244 Bloomfield Avenue (Aldi’s).
The police report indicated that a Loss Prevention Officer observed Sales concealing salmon and steak in a reusable bag and leaving the store without paying.
The stolen items were valued at $158.46.
Officers located Sales nearby and placed him under arrest.
He was then transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters and processed accordingly.
