Police Arrest Three in Connection with Jersey City Shooting

Police announced the arrest of three men that were allegedly involved in a shots-fired incident that led to a damaged vehicle Wednesday.

According to police, officers responded to the area near Ocean and Bayview avenues for a report of shots fired just before 2 p.m. that struck a vehicle.

The men - later identified as Travonne Cox, 23, Ahmed Chapman, 22, and Richard Persaud, 19, were initially charged with obstruction of a government function after police say they were uncooperative when cops asked them about shots being fired.

However, Cox was found with a cigarette box with numerous yellow pills. Chapman was also found in possession of 19 yellow pills, according to officials.

The two men were additionally charged with narcotics offenses.

The incident remains under investigation.
