Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team (F.A.T.) arrested Abdul A. Rafiq, 43, of Newark, for a burglary that occurred on Oct. 30th.
According to authorities, at approximately 10 p.m., officers responded to a burglary call in the area of South 12th Street and 9th Avenue. A 45-year old male victim stated that the suspect entered his room and stole cash and personal items before fleeing the area.
Detectives investigating this incident have determined that Abdul A. Rafiq is a suspect in this incident.
F.A.T. detectives arrested Rafiq without incident today at his residence. He is charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
