A man who stole a vehicle with children inside had police locate the suspect then place him under arrest this morning.
The incident originated in Paterson where authorities said the man took control of a vehicle that had three children in the back seat at around 8:15 a.m.
The man then drove the vehicle to a 7-Eleven in Hawthorne where he removed the children from the vehicle and onto the street.
An alert was broadcasted to several neighboring towns in Passaic and Bergen Counties where officering Paramus located the vehicle at the the Garden State Plaza.
The man was immediately placed under arrest without incident.
Police said the children were not harmed in the incident.
