Passaic County Prosecutor authorities announced that based upon an investigation by the Paterson Police Department, in conjunction with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, Twyleak Sexton, 20, of Easton, Pennsylvania, was arrested in relation to a shooting that took place September 17, 2020, in the area of North 2nd Street and Haledon Avenue in Paterson.
Police said in a statement that Mr. Twyleak Sexton is charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree; Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Second Degree; and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Second Degree.
According to police, on September 17th, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of North 2nd Street and Haledon Avenue on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old male Paterson resident who had sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
Based on the investigation, Twyleak Sexton was identified as the shooter and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Police say Twyleak Sexton was arrested in Northampton County, Pennsylvania on unrelated charges and on November 30th he was extradited to Passaic County, where Paterson Police made the arrest.
