Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced the arrest of Haneef Austin, 37, of Newark, for making Terroristic Threats yesterday (Saturday).
According to Director Ambrose, police responded to a residence in the 100-block of Court Street on a call of domestic violence.
A 35-year old male was assaulted by a relative, who threatened his life and damaged his vehicle.
Police said after obtaining a consent to search, police recovered a loaded rifle and 121 rounds of ammunition.
The suspect, Haneef Austin, was arrested without incident Director Ambrose said.
Police charged Austin with Simple Assault, Criminal Mischief, Terroristic Threats, and Certain Persons Prohibited from Weapon Possession.
These charges lodged against Austin are mere allegations. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
