Police Arrest Irvington Man Wanted For Terroristic Threats; Newark Man for Violating Restraining Order

Newark Police are reporting that their Fugitive Apprehension Team has arrested James Davis, 23, of Irvington, for making terroristic threats on Monday, April 17th.

According To Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, at approximately 10:40 a.m., a male victim was assaulted in the 400-block of 4th Avenue by a group of males.

Director Ambrose said one of the suspects threatened the victim’s life while possessing a handgun.

Detectives developed evidence that James Davis is the suspect in this incident and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Director Ambrose said detectives arrested Davis today.

He is charged with Terroristic Threats.

In a separate in incident, authorities said Jose Romero, 40, of Newark, was apprehended today for violating a restraining order on Friday, March 31, 2017.

Police took Romero into custody without incident arrested without incident and charged him with Contempt Director Ambrose said.

These charges are merely accusations lodged against Romero and Davis.

Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
