A 26-year-old convicted drug dealer who escaped last year was arrested yesterday in Paterson during a drug bust, authorities said.
After police received a complaint - from an area resident - of drug deals taking place on area streets, narcotics detectives set up surveillance near the corner of 11th Avenue and East 35th Street.
Police officers approached Kevin Wells who took off but was apprehended in the rear yard of a home on East 32nd Street, police said.
Kelvin Wells, was arrested after police said he intended to sell over 2,000 packets of heroin.
Police than searched a home on 11th Avenue where police said Wells was prior to arrest.
A large stash of heroin along with (45 MDMA) Ecstasy pills were recovered.
Wells was charged with eight drug offenses as well as resisting arrest, police said.
Wells escaped Newark halfway house after serving time on drug related charges for cases in Passaic, Bergen and Mercer counties.
