A police foot pursuit led to the swift apprehension of an armed juvenile in Newark's West Ward on Wednesday evening.
Newark undercover officers patrolling the Newark Georgia King Village Housing development area began an investigation after reportedly receiving reports of a person armed with a gun.
According to preliminary reports, when officers attempted to stop a male who fit the suspect's description, the juvenile ran away from officers and initiated a foot chase through the community.
The suspect was eventually captured in the 100 block of Georgia King Village and a gun was recovered by officers assisting in the pursuit.
Police reported no injuries, and the investigation remains active.
