Police took a man into custody then charged him with possession of a weapon near the border of Newark's Central and West wards.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 11:40 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired near 408 South 10th Street.
Upon arrival, police focused on a house where several were inside and reportedly abandoned.
Police entered then requested a crime scene unit after they found a male suspect inside with a loaded weapon.
Police say the suspects were arrested without further incident. The Newark Police department will handle the investigation.
