Police made a swift arrest of a man who was wanted for an attack during a robbery that occurred on Wednesday on a street in Newark.
According to preliminary reports, police were notified of a robbery in progress that occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. in the vicinity if 16th Avenue and Fairmont where police located the female victim who told officers that a male suspect approached and demanded personal possession then began to strike her in the face as she attempted to honor his request.
Police broadcasted a description of the suspect to field officers who located a man that fit the description according to reports.
The suspect began to sprint away initiating a foot pursuit that ended near the movie theater with police arresting the unidentified man according to reports.
The victim did not suffer severe injuries and the incident remains under investigation.
