The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney John Giordano, according to information released by the U.S. Department of Justice.

Dominick Montgomery, 38, appeared before U.S. District Court Judge Georgette Castner on October 8, 2024, where he pleaded guilty to the charges.

On March 6, 2025, Judge Castner formally sentenced him to 12 years in prison.

The case dates back to October 2021, when law enforcement launched an investigation into narcotics trafficking in Somerset and Middlesex counties.

During their efforts, investigators identified Montgomery as a key player in distributing drugs throughout the region.

Between October 27, 2021, and January 24, 2022, Montgomery engaged in multiple illegal transactions, selling eight firearms, cocaine, and fentanyl to an undercover officer in exchange for cash.

During the final transaction on January 24, 2022, he provided the officer with cocaine and three firearms in exchange for $6,750.
