According to police, a 27-year-old Plainfield man defecated in his pants so officers would not place him under arrest Sunday morning.
Officers responded to a report of a disorderly man on the 800 block of N. Wood Avenue sometime around 4:21 a.m.
Arriving officers observed Kyle Chambliss, 27, of Plainfield, talking loudly on his cell phone while sitting in a vehicle. Officers smelled alcohol coming from Chambliss and asked him to step out of his car.
After being told to end his phone call to speak to them, he became aggressive towards the officers cops said.
When he was told he was being placed under arrest, Chambliss told officers he had to defecate and proceeded to do so to keep the officers at bay according to authorities.
When the officers attempted to handcuff him, he struck one officer in the chest with his arm and kicked another officer in the leg cops said.
Officers had to administered a dose of pepper spray to get him to comply with them.
Chambliss later complained of difficulty breathing and was taken to Trinitas Hospital for treatment by the Linden Fire Department ambulance where he was later released to police.
He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct authorities said.!
He also had contempt warrants out of Somerset County Sheriff’s Department, Union County Sheriff’s Department, and Bound Brook Municipal Court.
Chambliss was transported to the Union County Jail in lieu of $65,000 bail with a court date set for July 22nd.
One of the responding officers was treated for an unspecified injury.
